Padlet was founded in 2008. It was originally called Wallwisher.

Now, it’s an edtech app that lets teachers and students create digital walls full of text, images, multimedia, and more. It’s everywhere.

And now? There are updates galore — including Magic Padlet, which uses AI to help generate content.

We have teaching ideas and templates below!

🤖 Bring my AI workshop to your school or district

It’s March.

It’s the time that professional development leaders start planning workshops for the summer and back to school.

(Maybe that’s you?) (Maybe that’s someone you can forward this email to?)

I’ve been leading my AI workshops with teachers for more than a year now. (In fact, I’m at the NCTIES Conference in North Carolina right now leading a pre-conference AI workshop.)

  • They’re hands-on and practical.

  • They prompt discussion and conversation.

  • They help educators see a path forward with AI in education.

Teachers report that they don’t have enough professional development about AI to really get started with it.

I’d like to help change that!

🆕 New Padlet Updates

Padlet has been around for a while and many of us have used it in class for years. However, Padlet has recently released several new features that really take this tool to a whole new level.

  • Magic Padlet: An AI-powered tool that helps you generate content for your Padlet, such as lesson plans, timelines, and learning resources.

  • Template Gallery: A collection of over 250 templates designed for various classroom activities, making it easier to create Padlets without starting from scratch. Each template also includes an example Padlet so that you can see what it might look like in class to spark even more ideas!

  • Freeze Padlets: A feature that allows you to lock a Padlet, making it a permanent record of your work. This is useful for capturing brainstorming sessions, collaborative projects, or completed assignments.

  • Translated Templates: All Padlet templates are now translated into all 42 languages supported by the platform.

🌴☀️ Some spring break fun!

I’m pretty confident of two things (if you live in the Northern Hemisphere) …

  1. You haven’t been on spring break quite yet.

  2. You’re getting close!

The “My ideal spring break” template can be a fun bell-ringer activity or change of pace. Or it could be the source of a writing prompt!

Use it for a little spring break fun in March!

😄 Smile of the day

Multitasking just isn’t in our wheelhouse in March.
