Plus: How to find what to watch next
After a restful long holiday weekend, we’re back with the Ditch Summit, our FREE online conference for educators!
You get access to this for FREE through your free subscription to the Ditch That Textbook email newsletter for educators.
🗓 11 days remaining in the Ditch Summit
After hosting summits for eight years, I’ve found that participants like you fit into three groups …
The ones that watch Ditch Summit while school is wrapping up in December
The ones that watch during holiday break
The ones that watch when school’s back in January
Right now, we’re in Phase 2 of those three … and there’s some GREAT stuff to keep you entertained and interested during your break!
That includes a session with James Clear, author of The New York Times bestseller Atomic Habits!
PS: Don’t forget to get your FREE certificates of completion for PD credit for every session you watch. They’ll only be available until the summit closes on Jan. 5!

If you haven’t considered digital portfolios for your class, you might want to make it your New Year’s resolution.
Why?
It’s a central place where students can gather their best work.
It lets students showcase their skills and talents to others.
It’s a great way for students to reflect on their growth.
In this spotlight sponsor session, Tisha Poncio of Wakelet walks you through the process of making a digital portfolio — and shows how a Wakelet account can help you and your students!
PS: Wakelet has a great free account you can start using right now!
PS #2: Want to provide all the best features for student portfolios to your students? Your school/district can run a portfolio pilot for just $2 per student — the Ditch Summit special! Email [email protected] to secure your discounted price before January 12, 2024.

☝🏼 REMINDER: How to find the perfect sessions quickly
By now, you’ve probably heard me say that we have +100 Ditch Summit sessions available.
(Oh, you haven’t? Well, let me tell you
… we have +100 Ditch Summit sessions available! 😉)
So … how do you find sessions that are best suited to you?
My favorite way: The video library dropdown menu.
When you go to the Ditch Summit video library page, just scroll down to this heading: “Search our Ditch Summit Video Library.”
You’ll find a white dropdown menu. Click it!
Scroll through all of the video categories. (Yes, you can scroll inside the dropdown menu!)
Find a category. Browse the videos. Find a session just for you.
It’s that easy!
📺 WATCH: Atomic Habits author James Clear
If you go to Amazon’s best seller chart right now, you’ll find Atomic Habits at #3 on its “Most Sold List.”
It’s above Britney Spears’s book. And Matthew Perry’s book. And the Elon Musk biography.
Atomic Habits has been on this list for 256 weeks.
