📺 Ditch Summit Day 7: Vibe coding for teachers

New session with Tony Vincent and Greg Bagby

It’s Day 7 of the Ditch Summit! (View all previous summit emails here.)

At this point in the summit, I can imagine what some folks are thinking …

“I’m so far behind on the Ditch Summit.”

It’s not true, though! There’s no such thing as behind.

I’m just releasing these videos one at a time, but there’s no pressure to watch all of them — or to watch them on the day they come out.

It’s like going to your local library. When the library has new books, there’s no pressure to read all of them right away. You just show up and read something you think you’ll love.

The summit is open until Jan. 11. No rush. Watch what you can when you can. The summit (and these emails) will be here waiting for you.

♻️ Day 6 recap

In their session, Holly Clark, Ken Shelton, and I asked: “What do teachers need to know about AI in 2026 — and beyond?” We talked about AI literacy through the lenses of prompting, assessment, feedback, student co-creation, ethical leadership, and culture. We shared some of our favorite concepts that we cover in the Teacher AI Literacy Level 1 certification course that we offer through The AI Fluency Lab.

Yesterday’s new St. Jude session shared how students at YOUR school can support children battling cancer by hosting various fundraisers. They include the Math-a-Thon (great for preparing for state tests!) and the EPIC STEM Challenge. BONUS: If you complete a fundraiser by March 31, 2026, you can get a free copy of my new AI literacy book!

🔎 SPOTLIGHT SPONSOR 🔎

All sponsor sessions are available now!

We started Spotlight Sponsor Sessions several years ago with a big goal in mind …

We know that you use certain apps and digital tools in your classroom. If you want to get the most out of them, it’s helpful to get some training directly from the source.

Plus, we know that finding new apps and digital tools can be tricky. There are so many out there. It’s time-consuming and overwhelming — and it’s hard to even know where to start.

Our Spotlight Sponsor Sessions give you a half hour of PD credit just for learning more about these tools. They’re practical, focused on classroom implementations (and not sales pitches).

All of our Spotlight Sponsor Sessions are now available!

You can find all of these in our Ditch Summit Video Library (with everything else!).

📺 FEATURED SPEAKER 📺

Vibe Coding: It's Amazing What YOU Can Create with Tony Vincent and Greg Bagby

At first, the term “vibe coding” might sound a little too techy, a little too high level. (“What is it, anyway?” you might ask.)

But it’s a fairly simple tech superpower that more and more teachers are learning — and they’re using it to create their own apps and digital games to help their students learn.

“Vibe coding” is simply asking an AI app like ChatGPT or Google Gemini to write the computer code necessary to create an app or a game.

No coding experience. No technical know-how.

Just describe what you want it to make and it’ll make it. (Then you can ask it for revisions to make it more and more like what you want.)

In this fun and practical session, Tony Vincent and Greg Bagby share how they’re using a few different platforms to do vibe coding.

Plus, you’ll get to see what they’ve been creating — so you can get an idea of what YOU will create!
