Can we help you write your lesson plans?
Ebooks, templates, and our best resources
I started the Ditch That Textbook blog in 2012. As of February, we will have been sharing resources with educators for 13 years!
Over all those years, it’s easy enough for ME to forget that we’ve created some things I know teachers loved.
We’re sharing our year-in, year-out FAVORITE resources from our readers in today’s newsletter.
Copy-and-assign templates. Teaching ideas. Tech tools. Ebooks. Lots and lots of good stuff.
Even if you’ve been with us for years, I’ll bet you’ll find something useful for class tomorrow!
Some of my favorite moments so far from FETC 2025 in Orlando, Florida.
🌴 I’M AT FETC — The FETC Conference in Orlando, Florida, is in full swing right now.
If you can’t be here, I can’t bring you a palm tree … but I can bring you presentation slides, video from my sessions, and more.
Keep an eye out soon for some of my best FETC stuff right here in your inbox!

🤖 Heretical Leadership: Transforming Education
In today's rapidly evolving world, education stands at a critical crossroads. To navigate this transformation, we need heretical leaders—those who dare to challenge the status quo and drive systemic change.
In today’s guest post, Dan Fitzpatrick shares that heretical leaders drive change through:
Visionary thinking
Courage to challenge the norm
Strategic disruption
Empathetic transformation
To support this transformation, Dan outlines a transformation toolkit that outlines why it’s essential to conduct practice audits, build collaborative coalitions, use compelling storytelling, implement pilot programs, and empower stakeholders.
The ultimate goal? Prepare students for a dynamic, AI-driven world by breaking down outdated educational barriers and creating more responsive, inclusive learning environments.
Dan shares how deeper into leading educational change in the AI era in his guest post The Rise of the Heretical Leader.
The ideas from this post draw from his new book, Infinite Education: The Four-Step Strategy for Leading Change in the Age of Artificial Intelligence.
